Project Launch at Sheraton Hotel
More than 50 journalists, diplomats and academics attended the project’s official launch at the Sheraton Hotel. Hosted by the European Institute, the event was held on February 10 in the Serdika Hall.
During the launch, the international team of experts gave short presentations focusing on the project’s main objectives. The media community were also given the opportunity to put their questions to the panel.
Guests included Ellie Haworth, Head of the BBC’s Bulgarian Section, and Stephen King, Director of the BBC World Service Trust. as well as representatives from the British, Austrian, German, Belgian and Irish embassies.
They were joined by delegates from the EC Delegation in Bulgaria, the Media Parliamentary Committee, the Bulgarian Media Coalition, the Council for Electronic Media, the Union of Daily Newspaper Publishers and the Faculty of Journalism at the ‘Kliment Ohridski’ University in Sofia.
