The Code of Ethics – and What the Code Means for Bulgarian Media Outlets

Local experts will visit as many media outlets as possible – radio, tv and newspapers – throughout Bulgaria and will provide information to both journalists and managers about the Code of Journalistic Ethics and the recently established National Council for Journalistic Ethics.

They will also explain how the future Complaints Commissions will be established, and how they will administer the Code and deal with complaints from members of the public.

Priority will be given to those media outlets who have already signed up to the Code of Ethics; however, other media outlets will also be targeted.

The Project Office has already started to contact media outlets – concentrating initially on signed-up outlets – in order to arrange individual visits.

Media outlets which have not yet signed up to the Code of Ethics but want to ensure that they are visited by our experts are invited to contact us:

Our contact details are:    Tel / Fax:                 02/ 980 77 45
Or e-mail:  Ms Elisaveta Alexandrova -           ealexandrova@mediacenterbg.org
