The five-day course, held from 21/05/01 till 25/05/01, followed immediately on from a successful two-day conference for radio stations in Kosovo, organized by the OSCE.

 The workshop was a first one for the media in Kosovo.  It brought together Serbian, Albanian, Bosniak and Turkish radio professionals. This was the first time they had come together for any event since the war.

 It was against this positive background that the five-day seminar was held.  Participants were chosen by their stations’ commitment to developing new programme areas, in particular a willingness to invest in breakfast programmeming.
