Management Team


Sam MillerSam Miller – Project Director (New Delhi)
 
Sam is the former Managing Editor, South Asia Region for BBC World Service where he was responsible for running radio and online services in six South Asian languages.  He has recruited more than 100 staff for the BBC from India, has launched two BBC websites, and has commissioned and conducted training courses in India and the UK.  Sam is a former BBC correspondent in Delhi and was also Head of the BBC Urdu Service.  Sam has an MSc in Politics from London University and a BA (Hons) from Cambridge University.

 
Ellie HaworthEllie Haworth – Project Director (London)
 
Ellie joined the WS Trust in May 2005.  She has worked as Head of the BBC Bulgarian Service, and as Manager, Journalism and Production in BBC World Service Training.  She has also worked in WS Training as a Senior Trainer, Production.  In 2001/2 she designed and implemented a British Council sponsored two-year project to train nearly 60 Bulgarian journalists in the objective reporting of minorities.  Ellie completed an MBA course at Bradford University in December 2004.

 
Rajiv SaurastriRajiv Saurastri – Project Manager (New Delhi)
 
Rajiv has over twenty-two years of professional experience in the corporate and social sector, where he has worked in key management and financial positions. His specialisation is in programme management and social sector finance.  Rajiv joined the BBC World Service Trust three years ago, and in 2004 was appointed Project Manager for the India Journalism Training Project.  Prior to joining the BBC, Rajiv spent eleven years experience in a UN accredited organization. Rajiv is a graduate in law and post-graduate in commerce and sociology.
