Carbon City

A film by the participants in the
Bangalore Environment Journalists' Workshop

Bangalore is India's ‘Garden City’.

But thanks to the software and service sector boom in India's silicon valley, there has been a phenomenal rise in the city’s vehicular traffic in the past five years.

This has led to rising levels of air pollution, and increasing number of people suffering from respiratory disorders.

While the city’s administrative authorities are trying to combat the problem, their efforts are failing to make a significant difference.

The film concludes that if the situation persists, it won’t be long before the famous Garden City will have to be renamed as the Carbon City.
