Breaking Down Language Barriers
iLearn can be implemented in any language supported by Microsoft or with a downloadable Unicode plug-in. This section features an introduction to all the existing language versions of iLearn with regular bulletins on upcoming implementations.
iLearn has been designed to ensure maximum flexibility when building language versions. The first step is to change the "system dictionary" which controls the language in which the interface is displayed. iLearn administrators then set-up a new language category in the Content Management System which inherits module structure and content from the English language "parent".
The next stage is to translate existing modules into the relevant language and source multi-media content from local media output. Local trainers can then build courses from these modules and adapt them to suit the learning needs of end users. They are also free to devise, build and publish "home-grown" courses to complement and expand default packages. During the learning cycle, all feedback is delivered in the local language.
