In-house TV training courses gathered more than 20 participants across Bossaso and Hargeisa in February 2006.

It was the first formal training in camera and editing skills any of the trainees ever had.

Lead trainer Philip Darley writes:

"The courses were a combination of hands-on experience and practical demonstrations. The principle for training was first to ensure trainees know and understand their equipment and second, to teach them the techniques and rules to filming and editing. They were shown the theory behind composing a good shot and basic rules to editing sizes."

The feedback received has mostly been good. Cameramen expressed a special gratitude for the very basic technical skills on the camera.
